International Streaming Guides

Multiple international and local/app charts rely heavily on digital streaming to determine chart ranking. While free streaming is available on some platforms, it is important to remember: premium streams weigh more than free streams on charts. But don't worry – most streaming sites offer free premium trials! Check our list of streaming premium trials to get yours and get prepared!

Streaming Guidelines

• NEVER use VPN to stream as those streams will NOT be counted. "Normal" non-VPN streams will help to chart in your local region and for Billboard global charts

• Only stream ATEEZ tracks from ATEEZ official channels

• Creating playlists – embrace chaos and "be normal"!

  • Don't follow the same template/structure for every playlist you make – change up the number and type of fillers between title track plays.

  • Use a wide variety of fillers from various genres! More "random" and pattern-less playlists may be filtered less heavily than a playlist that contains a majority of songs from the same artist or genre.

  • Change and rotate playlists.

  • Playlists should ideally be under 2 hours long. Check out playlists made by fanbases for various platforms.

• Listening guidelines

  • Don't just "set and forget" your playlists when possible – interact with the app/playlist every 20 minutes – 1 hour

    • Skip non-title track songs occasionally

    • Change the volume

  • DO NOT MUTE – plug in headphones if you can't or don't want to be listening!

  • It's okay to shuffle a playlist – general population does do this!

  • Listen to the whole song for the majority of songs and all title track plays (don't fast forward or skip those – but do occasionally skip fillers)

• DO NOT LOOP songs, albums, or playlists

  • If you need to be away from your device, you can queue up a few different playlists. If you are streaming with Apple Music or a Spotify premium account, you can join Stationhead!

Maximizing Streams

Streams from premium accounts count significantly more toward charts than streams from free accounts. Streams from accounts using a free premium trial still count as premium streams (creating a new Spotify account with a new email will allow you to use a new Spotify free trial!).

If possible, please stream using a premium account to help our charting efforts! If you are unable to acquire a premium account on your own, check for fanbases offering Spotify premium account sponsorships.

Higher streams can give us a better chance at getting radio play and streaming app play listing. In turn, radio play and streaming app play listing can introduce new people to the music and help us get higher streams!

Billboard 200 (premium streams worth 3x more)

1 album unit = 1250 premium streams OR 3750 free streams

Billboard Global 200 (premium streams worth 4.5x more)

1 track unit = 200 premium streams OR 900 free streams

Billboard Global 200 US Excluded (premium streams worth 4.5x more)

1 track unit = 200 premium streams OR 900 free streams

Important!!!

If you are using strategies for Spotify Global 200 such as streaming the title track only 10 times on a Spotify account before swapping, those 10 plays apply to the ACCOUNT and not a SINGLE PLAYLIST.

With the new streaming guidelines to increase randomness and decrease potential filtering, we recommend you achieve those 10 streams for Spotify Global 200 from a variety of sources – multiple fanbase- or self-created playlists, Spotify curated playlists, the album itself, etc. Streams beyond those 10 for Spotify Global 200 will still count for other charts as well as overall track streams!

Filtering rules for an individual platform do not override the overall guidelines for proper streaming.
